Sarah and I went back to Waxahachie for Thanksgiving. This was our first time back to
We were also able to connect with supporters during our time, catching them up on the future of our ministry. We are so grateful to the Cox's, the Schuster's, and the Box's for spending time with us. The response we received from all three have made us even more excited about heading to
The final part of our time in Waxahachie was spent assisting Sarah's church, Water Street Baptist, with their Christmas Day Parade float. This is an annual event in Waxahachie that much of the community participates in. This years theme for the parade was "Story", so the float was designed around "The Greatest Story Ever Told." Despite some gray clouds spraying a bit of ran on us and threatening more we were able to complete the float and send it on its merry way for the parade. In the photos you ought to be able to see some "before" and "after" images as well as a short video below of the float in action (the audio isn't the greatest, it was windy that day, but you get the idea).
Peace,
Kirk and Sarah

A "catchy" something we worked on....
Sarah and I wanted to post a video she and I worked on together last spring with her creative team in the National Campus Office. This has become a consistent part of our lives recently where we have contributed to the production design of videos produced for the campus ministry. Production design consists of all the elements connected to how the set and actors look...anything from backdrops to wardrobe and makeup.
This video, called "Somethin' Catchy", was shot last spring and is being used to promote Summer Projects to college students throughout the US. It is a humorous and thoughtful way to attract a students attention and encourage them to explore deeper the possibility of spending a summer on a project here in the States or overseas.
In this video Sarah helped with many things including set design, wardrobe and makeup...she was also "Script Supervisor" for the shoot. I was "prop master" for the shoot as well as helped with wardrobe, makeup and the setting up and breaking down of the set. It was quite fun.
To look at all the videos Sarah's team did in connection to Summer Projects click this link (Summer Project website) and look for the video link when you get to the site.
Peace,
Kirk
PS. "Innovative Monkey" is the name of the video production arm of Sarah's team. Enjoy.

Texas for Thanksgiving via Baton Rouge
Hello all,
We are here in Waxahachie, Texas (about 30 minutes south of Dallas) for Thanksgiving. making plans with Sarah's family for the spread of food we will be partaking of in a few days.
On our trip across the south we stopped off at some of Sarah's friends in Baton Rouge, Scott and Jennifer Erwin...no relation as far as I am aware. The Erwin's have housed us before on our trips back and forth across the country and we are eternally grateful for their generosity. The rest of their family is made up of their two daughters Lily and Anna, and finished off with their dog Abby, and cat Ella. When Sarah and I usually arrive at their place I immediately go play with the dog and Anna brings Sarah the cat...I guess we gravitate toward our own species. Both Scott and Jennifer have been wonderful supporters of Sarah's over the years and we are thankful for the use of their home and the availability of their pets...

Thanksgiving plans and other things...
Sarah and I are currently attempting to finish things off here in Orlando before we take off to Texas for Thanksgiving. Right now we are at the HQ for Campus Crusade, where Sarah works, trying to finish our end of the year ask as well as work on a fund-raising brochure. We are leaving Sunday for Dallas where we will spend two weeks celebrating Thanksgiving with Sarah's family as well as meeting with supporters and friends. We should be back to Orlando around December 2nd.
